Contact Originators, an innovation-led packaging origination and flexo plate-making company, has made two new appointments to support its growth and expansion strategy.
Robyn Stott was appointed Account Development Manager, while David Smith joined the company as Quality Control and Reprographics Operator.
Robyn moved to Contact from corrugated packaging manufacturer, Connect Packaging, where she held the role of Business Development Manager. She is focused on creating and developing business opportunities for Contact within existing and new target markets.
Robyn said of her appointment: “Contact is a true driver in the print and packaging industry when it comes to innovation and forward-thinking. I am excited to be part of the company’s journey in 2019, and looking forward to working with customers, demonstrating Contact’s capabilities in meeting their ever-evolving needs and requirements. Our philosophy is that leaders never follow and this is certainly true looking at the number of innovations we’ve delivered in recent months for our customers.”
Notably, Contact has encouraged Robyn to join the ‘Women In Packaging UK’ initiative to extend her network within the sector and enrolled her in the European Flexographic Industry Association (EFIA) flexo online academy training programme to further her development. Robyn will complete 15 online training modules widening her knowledge of the business and the flexo sector in general. Investing in academy training reflects Contact’s commitment to ensuring training and education of the next generation of young talent.
David Smith has significant experience in the reprographics and platemaking industry, having joined Contact from another repro house. He is responsible for overseeing quality control at the repro stage before proceeding to plate making.
David said: “The workflow systems in place at Contact are far more advanced than anywhere I have worked before, which has been eye-opening and makes my role very exciting. Contact are leaders in the flexographic industry and are renowned for their innovation, so it’s a great privilege for me to be offered the chance to work here. On a day to day basis I will be responsible for ensuring the business operates smoothly at the repro stage, but more importantly I will be involved in a number of innovation projects which will continue to drive our record growth.”
Nick Mitchell, Contact Originators General Manager, said: “We are delighted to welcome Robyn and David to the Contact team. Their varied and extensive experience will be invaluable in supporting Contact’s growth and innovation as we move into 2019 and is representative of the quality of skills and talent we have today at Contact Originators.”
