Established in 1992 in Bredbury, Stockport, U.K, the Contact Originators team now has over 30 years experience in delivering graphics management excellence to its print and packaging clients.

With over 50 employees, the company operates out of two adjacent purpose-built production units. These incorporate an artwork studio with 9 staff using the latest leading automated workflow technologies fully integrated into the company MIS system. This investment ensures clients receive the highest quality and service performance on the market.

As a privately owned company, Contact Originators is able to source and test the best and most innovative materials available, as well as make decisions quickly on all aspects of procurement and the investments required to drive the business forward.

Steve Mulcahy

Steve is a successful Entrepreneur who has spent over 35 years in the UK Paper Industry working initially in the soft tissue paper sector working for Bowater’s, The Scott Corporation, AM Paper & SCA.

In 1999 he also developed the first fully integrated production facility for Cardboard pallet production. Steve has held many key roles during his successful career including Senior Board Positions.

In 1999 Steve played a major part in the sale of AM Paper to SCA Hygiene division for £230m, this deal was one of the largest of its type in the UK and has also previously served as Vice Chairman for the (CPI) Confederation of Paper Industries.

Gary Walker

Finance Director

Gary started out working for one of the leading accountancy firms in the North West, building his education in Finance. After 10 years, he moved in to industry and joined Northern Tissue Group. It is here that Steve Mulcahy and Gary began working together. Gary progressed to Group Finance Director and was integral to the turnaround performance of the company making it in to a successful player in the UK tissue paper market.

Alongside Steve, Gary built an established and growing customer based with leading supermarkets and implemented over £4M of Capex projects, through self-financing and controlled budgets. Having transformed the business, it was eventually sold to Italian owners to become one of Europe’s largest tissue manufacturers in 2013.

Post sale, Gary joined Contact Originators to continue his 15-year working relationship with Steve. The team has continued to build on its success transforming Contact Originators in to one of the leading forward thinking companies in the print and packaging market.

Les Jones

Les Jones

Technical Director

Les has over 30 years experience in the print and packaging industry. Starting at Belmont Packaging in 1985 at the age of 18 working his way upto Print Manger and at the time helping develop the first real High Quality Print on a corrugated press in the UK.

Les has held various positions within the industry which included working for a global cutting formes supplier and in another position working for a reprographics company developing and delivering on press high quality flexo plates and print.

Les is part of the Senior Management team and his current role is Print Innovation and Product Development Manager which entails delivering world class innovation to the customer base, developing print, testing new products and techniques to help Contact to continue to be a market leader.

Nick Mitchell

Operations Director

Nick has over 21 years experience within the Reprographic industry. At the age of 17 he started his Apprenticeship at Contact in the Commercial Department and also studied at the Northern College of Printing on day release.

Nick has held various positions within Contact giving him experience in many aspects of the business and excellent technical knowledge of reprographics process and key components.

His current role of as General Manager is to oversee the day to day running of Contact and work as part of the Senior Management team and align the business with its long term strategy and help continue to be a market leader through service and innovation.
