The team at Contact Originators (‘Contact’) has recently starred in a webinar series hosted by global hardware and software supplier to the packaging industry, Esko.
Broadcast to Europe and the US on December 1st and Asia on December 10th 2020, the webinar showcases the beta testing work Contact Originators had completed for the company and the benefits that Print Control Wizard software brings to Contact and its customers.
Nick Mitchell, General Manager at Contact Originators, said: “We’ve been working with Esko over the past six months to bring Print Control Wizard to market, beta testing and refining the solution. We’ve been achieving stunning results with our corrugated customers who have also been involved in commenting on the benefits and impact of the software. We were delighted to provide a video testimonial with key customer Smurfit Kappa Inspirepac, as well as get involved in sharing our success in the global webinar.”
Print Control Wizard software adds a new level of simplification to the flexographic plate making process. The tool uses all critical print parameters and variables (imaging resolution, exposure settings, plate, substrate, anilox, press type, inks, …) to standardise the generation of Crystal screens and curves for each application, removing all non-valued added tasks from the process.
In particular the technology brings benefits for the corrugated printing process increasing print quality on low grammage and recycled substrates and saving costs by reducing the amount of pigment required in inks and coatings.
Les Jones, Print Innovation and Product Development Manager at Contact Originators, said: “At Contact, we have a fundamental belief in driving innovation to optimise both our operational efficiency and that of our customers.
“Alongside delivering excellence in print quality, Print Control Wizard has enabled us to reduce our customers’ press stops for plate cleaning, as well as minimise their make ready times. We’ve also seen it contribute to their ability to move to fixed palette printing for some jobs, due to the consistency the software brings to our platemaking. It’s been a real breakthrough in our business and we are delighted to share our insights and success with the industry.”
