Contact Originators, a leading name in print prepress services for the corrugated, flexible packaging and label sectors, is celebrating after its CEO Steve Mulcahy was shortlisted in two categories at the esteemed North West Leadership Awards (NWLA) 2025.

Steve has been nominated in the ‘Manufacturing Leader of the Year’ and ‘Company Leader of the Year (51-100 employees)’ categories, recognising his exceptional leadership and transformational impact on the business.

Under his tenure, Contact Originators has evolved from a traditional platemaking company into an innovation-drive technology pioneer with a nearly £10m turnover, maintaining the independence and commitment to excellence that have made its name in the packaging industry.

Steve led the company through a crisis period in 2020 when a devastating fire destroyed 40% of its production capacity overnight. He resolved that no members of the team would be lost or let go, and that all commitments to customers would be met, no matter the cost. This disaster occurred just months before the COVID-19 pandemic struck, creating a perfect storm of challenges to overcome.

Steve was also recently appointed Chairperson of the Board for the Flexographic Industry Association (FIAUK), demonstrating his wider influence across the UK printing industry.
